Depends which dizzy you have.
If it’s the Ford one, then the cap will only fit on one way round, there’s a round cutout on one side and a square one on the other on the underside.
Similarly, the rotor arm will only fit on one way due to the notch on the shaft.
Usually, if it’s set up correctly, the first HT lead goes from the ‘top right’ terminal on the cap to number one plug (nearest the radiator, the right hand cylinder as you look at it).
The firing order is 1,2,4,3, therefore, going anti-clockwise, the next terminal is connected to number two plug, the next to number four plug and the last one to number three plug.
