I definitely wouldn’t use a 100E rear axle. The 107E is far superior – stronger, quieter and it’s possible to change the ratio if so desired by simply fitting a different diff unit.
The 107E and 100E Popular front suspension is identical in all respects, including a stub axle inner diameter of one inch and brake drums, bearings and grease seal. Earlier 100Es used a 0.987″ diameter stub axle and everything except the outer bearing but including the drums, is different.
