I don’t think that simply changing the carburettor will gibe you any noticeable improvement in performance, and even bigger changes are limited if you have a 997cc engine. Limiting factors are the manifolds, which are pretty inefficient, camshaft and valve / port sizes. Fitting a 1196 engine – or converting the 997 to 1198 – will give a better and more reliable power boost, a 1498cc a lot more. Have read of these.
