    Hi guys,
I’m trying to decide on what engine to power my Anglebox and am leaning towards the ST170 engine. I am struggling to find any information on the conversion for our cars. There’s loads on escorts but none for the Anglia, Is there anyone on here who has done this and can hep out with what I need in relation to parts ect. I’ve emailed retroford to see if I can use their Zetec/st170 fitting kit for Escorts/Cortina so will hopefully hear back at some point today!

Dave and Chris will have all the information you need, as I am sure they have done it. They are good blokes at Retroford.

retroford will be able to supply most of the parts you need inc a front bowl sump.
105speed can sort the cooling side out with radiator and header tank etc and also an exhaust
Milton for the world cup crossmember that you will need
whereabouts are you in the country ?

Doing this project myself, why do you need a world cup cross member and not use the original. ST170 seems a lotlighter then the 1500 pre crossflow that came with it.

depends what you want to make yourself, you can buy engine mounts to fit the world cup crossmember but not the standard one. personally if your building a fast road anglia with an st engine you really want the better mounting offered by the world cup type

It’s not about the lightness of the engine, it’s about the extra stresses and strains of the power of the ST engine, compared to the 997 and 1200 blocks.
