Strictly speaking, there is no prescribed limit on radial play as there shouldn’t be any, so any perceptible play is excessive. Having said that, the Prefect has had about a 1/16 to 3/32 inch vertical movement for the entire sixteen years I’ve had it. The bush at the top of the column is grease-soaked felt, although I’ve heard – but haven’t tried – that the plastic bush from an original type Mini will fit.
