Window winder?
January 28, 2010 at 7:52 am #22744It looks like a stripped down heater without the bit for the matrix and fan.
Jason, has your saloon got this setup ?
Can you post a pic if you have please ?

The vent in the bonnet had a blanking plate and the bulkhead holes were also sealed. I’ve not heard of an export fresh air system! Following on from Ken’s comment though – you’ll definitely need a heated screen – driving my van in the winter was a nightmare – the screen kept misting up so I had to drive with the windows down which made it bloomin freezing!
Good Luck!
:lol:January 28, 2010 at 1:57 pm #22749Driving my van in summer has not been a nightmare with no blower as such, but with our weird weather with the sudden changes from sun to rain in an instant will cause your screen to mist up almost instantly. Whilst i still have hot air flow when moving, I’ve still had to use the h/screen to clear quickly on occasions. So beware my little suckered friend.
January 28, 2010 at 2:43 pm #22753Don’t worry its part of “daleks master plan”
Anybody got one ?
January 28, 2010 at 2:43 pm #22754I know the type of blower you mean but have only ever seen pictures of one and not the real thing.I have never yet come across an export model with one. All South African cars have full heaters. If it is a problem with space, can you not just take off the fan and blank it off?
January 28, 2010 at 2:59 pm #22755January 29, 2010 at 9:33 am #22758Yay, both my Malta imports are just blanked off at the bulkhead and blanking plate over the bonnet vent. Inside, the control panel is blanked also, although there is the chrome bitties on top of the dash to direct air against the windscreen.
Will have a look under the dash when i can be bothered to venture out to the garage.
If its just a stripped heater, why not make one out of a normal heater unit?January 29, 2010 at 3:57 pm #22760February 11, 2010 at 7:21 am #22895I might have something,my car is a South African import and when I got it there was a heater box fitted but no internals at all. It might just be that someone had stripped and blanked it off though as it’s a few years since I removed it so the memory is fading somewhat. I’ll try and look it out this weekend for you if you are still looking for one?

Sounds promising, could you post a picture of it when you find it please ?
Cheers 8)
