    just purchased a 107e the v5 states 1098cc, If i am correct they came out of the factory as 997cc.

    Started a engine re-build its a 109e block and has 113e con rods the stroke is aprox 60mm.

    I was told it was a 1340 but think its a 1200

    can any one help

    thanks

    I think you’re right! Stroke of 1200 58.17mm, code 113E. Definitely not 1098, which came with the Escort.

    As said, 113E is 1198cc. 1342 (109E) rods are shorter to match the longer stroke: 65.07mm. There’s practically no gain from the 1342 over the 1198 engine.

    By the way, the block will have to code 109E 6015 cast into it. It was the same block for 997, 1198 and 1342 engines so it doesn’t mean anything.

    Hi JAN
    so Do the 3 cranks have 105e/ 113e / 109e markings on them too ? And also is the factory camshaft the same for all 3 engine sizes ? ( but different to x-flow kent cam shaft ? )

    I would think the cranks would be marked with the Part Numbers as prefixed as said, but I’m not sure where the marks are. There was the original 105E camshaft, but a replacement 109E cam came with the 1342cc 109E engine, and the used throughout, including, I think, the 1498 engine.

    thanks for the info. I have listed parts below
    block=109e 6016
    crank=113e 6032-a2
    rod’s=113e
    cam=bm2 fr-50
    head=113e

    so is it a standard 1200cc

    thanks
