The problem with fitting belts in an Anglia is, as you rightly say, there are no mounting points in the earlier cars, and you can’t just bolt seatbelts into the body, they will just rip out in case of a collision. I am no expert on the structural strong points of an Anglia either, sorry :(

My Super/Deluxe in great condition is agreed value at £6000 with Footman James, but is a rare vehicle. My wife’s Estate, again in good nick is AV at £4500. Might give you an idea. I would put yours at somewhere around the £5000 to £5500. But that’s only if the insurer agrees!!

Thnaks for that, Martin stripped the carb down completely, and would the mixture screw out 2 turns, but I guess that’s still the likely problem. I also have a new dizzy on it so have to set the timing up with a strobe light…

Might be better asking on a different forum such as http://www.oldskoolford.co.uk, most of the Anglia owners either stick to the precross flow engines or go mad and fit a Zetec or something similar.
The Club are not allowed to send parts to the US or Canada. What your sister in law’s sister does with her water pumps is of no importance to the Club as far as I can see!
If you are trying to identify an engine, the GTs had GT stamped on the lug that is nearer the gearbox on the head over the manifolds
